Edenfield Family

Some families are just beautiful.  Well, a lot of families are just beautiful.  And part of what I absolutely love most about being a family photographer is finding the beauty in each and every family – that spark that makes them unique and special and stunning in their own way.  But some families, when they get in front of a camera, are able to make magic.  This is one of those families.  First of all, Jessica always scouts out locations and brings me to places I’ve never been – I love the adventure of it all!  She sees chipped green paint, peeling brick, a colorful mural, and she knows it will be great!  And she makes her husband do crazy things like pick her up, swing her around, climb on the railing of parking garages even though heights aren’t exactly his thing…  And Kyle’s a total sweetheart, gets his wife to wear a wolf shirt ‘just because’, and faces his fears of high places, all for the sake of art!  I love it!

And Lyla.  Oh my goodness!  Her eyes are stunning!  She has her parents’ gorgeous skin.  The golden wisps in her hair catch the light so perfectly.  And she’s on the MOVE!  So hard to get this little firecracker to be still for even a moment… and that’s part of the joy I find in photography!  The unexpected, the unscripted moments, the genuine laughter…

The day we met for these pictures was, I think, probably the 2nd sunny day of the Summer.  We’ve had an insanely rainy season here and it’s challenged me in so many ways as a photographer.  BUT… when the sun came out and the sky was gorgeous and the sunset was breathtaking… well, I was OVERJOYED!!!  So, when you have a gorgeous family, a sense of humor, a stunning sunset, and my camera all together…. this pretty much makes the magic.  I hope you enjoy it with me!
