Baby Caleb

I am so thankful for this family for many reasons:  1) Erica is an incredible photographer, and I’m honored that she asks me to photograph her family; 2) Her kids are some of the best behaved that I photograph – they know exactly what to do on a photo shoot… mom has taught them SOOO well; 3) Curt has that incredible personal juxtaposition of having one of the scariest jobs I know, but he uses his “powers” for good to rescue me with my computer when I get myself into all kinds of messes, plus he explains my phone to me; and 4) As a family, they love the Lord with all their hearts and He has given them this incredible new, unexpected bundle of joy to light up their lives in all kinds of new ways!

Erica Made My Day!!! when she asked me to come to the hospital right after Caleb was born to capture the wonder of his newness and beauty and sweetness.  I picked up her kids and brought them with me so we could get the whole family together and so I could try to show with my camera the tenderness and love they have for their new little man.  I’m ecstatic I was able to witness their wonder and amazement… Alex’s gentleness, Becca’s tender love as she brushed Caleb’s hair…  This was my first time doing newborn photos in a hospital.  It was a challenge because it was new.  And it was so personal and special and wonderful… I loved every single minute.
