Baby Rocco

I know some photographers enjoy specializing in one particular area of photography, like newborns or maternity or weddings or children or fashion.  They hone their craft and work some absolutely mind-blowing magic!  But one of the greatest joys of being a ‘family’ photographer is following a family through their stages of life.  It’s such an honor to be invited in to watch a family grow!

Well, this is Lori and her family.  Lori is one of my cousin’s best friends and I feel like I’ve known her forever.  I was so excited to be asked to take her engagement pictures… I was fairly new in photography and I think it may have possibly been my first engagement session?  I loved it!  Then, they asked me to photograph their wedding – SO MUCH FUN!!!  Oh my goodness, their love for each other is just stunning to see!!!  Then, I got an e-mail from Lori… she had a baby on the way and wanted me to capture that special time for them… at the same place where we took engagement photos.  ::BIG SMILE::  I love rejoicing with my clients and friends – rejoicing over these new and amazing and beautiful times in their lives!  I love seeing how their love for each other has grown and how they’ve changed and yet are so much the same!  I love seeing the excitement on their faces as they experience life together, and I love getting to capture that moment in time with my camera (and can I just say, Lori is STUNNING as a mommy-to-be!!!).  This is their gift to me, and I’m thrilled to give them, in return, something to remember.
