Jonathan + Kristin + Baby-on-the-way

I love getting to be a photographer.  I love being asked to peek into the special phases of a family and capture what makes them uniquely “them.”  I love seeing children with the eyes of their mother and freezing a moment in time for that mom to cherish.  I love everything about it – even when the kids are crying, or I’m sweating and mosquitos are biting.  Everything about it is a privilege and is incredibly special.  And there are some sessions that really and truly touch my heart.

This was one of those sessions.  I’ve known Kristin… well, it seems like forever.  She’s best friends with my cousin, so I grew up knowing her.  She knew and loved my grandmother dearly, so that means she’ll pretty much always be one of my favorite people.  🙂  Kristin and Jonathan are expecting their first child – a little boy named Jennings – soon!  And she blessed me so very much by inviting me to take her maternity photos, and I’ll get to meet baby Jennings and capture his sweet face in a couple of weeks!  Kristin is gorgeous all the time, but as an expecting mother, she really and truly is positively glowing.  I know we sometimes say that to expectant moms to help them feel better about their swollen feet and to calm their crazy hormones, but for Kristin it’s really and truly TRUE!  She’s stunning!  Her eyes are so bright and excited with anticipation.  Her sense of humor is contagious and delightful.  And my favorite moment of the whole shoot… when she started to cry with joy in the moment.  I was honored that I got to stand there with her in that moment.

I normally say, “I hope you enjoy these as much as I have,” but I really don’t think it’s possible with this session.  They’re near and dear to my heart.  <3
