Waking up to clouds heavy with rain on the brink of a world-wide pandemic is not how I typically prepare for a photo session. But Laura and Nathan had gotten engaged, and life had not quite completely shut down yet. So we seized our opportunity and met at a local park to record this part of their story together.
It. was. perfect. The ground was wet, but the sun broke through the clouds. The fresh air was invigorating. And more than all these things… George was a rockstar! My Noah came along as assistant dog-handler, and we all thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time together… and George loved the attention and treats. Basically anytime someone wants to throw their dog into the mix, I’m excited, and I honestly believe this was the most cooperative of any canine model I’ve had the joy of photographing.
But this day wasn’t about George (though… I mean, come on!). It was about beginnings. God’s goodness in our lives. Celebration. Joy overflowing. Love. I’m so thankful Laura and Nathan invited me to capture their memories of this time. I’m so thankful for God’s kindness toward us. Even as the world was shutting down, their story is beginning a new chapter, and I can’t wait to see the next one.
