Sunsets + Family + Joy in the Journey

There are some moments that come together so perfectly that my soul positively sings.  This session was one of those moments.  Sure, the horses were unpredictable.  But they were oh, so beautiful!  Sure, there were gnats.  But they caught the light in an absolutely magical way.  Sure it was 90+F and sticky humid like a classic late Southern summer.  But the light was like dripping honey over the treetops and the golden yellow flowers glimmered like spun gold.  And then the Thomas family… has God ever made a more beautiful family?  When I look at them, I don’t just blindingly gorgeous smiles and eyes… I see God’s work in their hearts.  I see grit and faithfulness to Him and to one another.  I see triumphant victory and tears and rejoicing.  I see peace that only God gives.  And now, I see new life in little Valor, already cherished in their hearts and arriving into their arms soon.  That sweet face will be positively covered in kisses!

And so, I hope that when you see these photos you see a bit of that as well… the fun and the laughter, the joy in the golden light, and the celebration of God’s kindness in the past and in anticipation of the days to come.

…also, I hope you see the donkey.  She was pretty much my favorite animal, ever.
