My family has the flu. It hasn’t been the best experience, but there have been some good things. I got to sit in bed with my husband and watch movies all day Saturday. I can’t remember the last time that happened! And my boys got to camp out in the living room all night with a trash can by their side. All the beds have clean sheets, and clean sheets, and again clean sheets (hence the trashcan). Finally we’re starting to mend… Noah’s coloring, Silas is playing around and being goofy in his undies, and I finally feel like getting out my camera. These are from this morning… I loved the way the sunlight was coming in on Silas as he was reading, so I had to snap a few shots. And then he noticed me and really got into it and started being his silly self. I love these images because they are my life. And he asked me to take pictures of his scar. I’ve never photographed it, specifically, before. It’s from a muscle biopsy he had when he was 8 mo. old, and the results from that biopsy changed his life – it’s how we found out he has Mitochondrial Disease. That scar saved his life, so I think it’s fitting and I’m glad he wanted pictures of it. He thinks it’s how he got his super powers. I always agree with him. 🙂 So… this is us on the mend from the flu, and this is us celebrating the joys of every-day life as the Lord so graciously gives it!
